A Reason, A Season, A Lifetime...

I've met a lot of people in my life, a few have made a lasting impression and some have faded with time.

Over the years new relationships are forged and old one either remain dormant or fade with time.

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON...It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to help you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are! They are there for the "Reason" you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. Sometimes they die. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. Your need has been answered, and now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON...It is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

  1. James, I really don't know why you don't have a wife?? Your so expressive! And you really have your head on straight. I feel the same way, God places people into our lives, so does Satan. We must be alert, watch them, are they whom they say they are? No being strange, but see if what they say is real, If their words ring true. Some people are here to teach us something, or to fulfill a need at that time in our life. They may be there to lead us to a new path, something we never thought about before. Someone to lift us up when we need it. : ) I guess that's why I'm here writing on your blog. I see you, funny, handsome, charming, deep, soulful, passionate about life and love and the pursuit of those things. Not greedy, just wanting your share, but if extra fell your way that's fine too. ; ) You are spiritual, I see pains and hurts in your past, but they have shaped you to be who you are today. I pray that you find all you search for. Your Friend Sheri

  2. Dear Sheri,

Thank you so much, it really means a lot, I am overwhelmed by your compliments. It's strange but true, had I not gone through certain disappointments or had I not fallen in love, I would have not written poetry, not met so many wonderful people across the globe. Thank you so much, I do look forward to reading your poems.

    James

  3. So true, hurt, loss, a broken heart, finding faith that heals, all these things give us the creative expression inside us. I've always written poetry, I love to sing and dance, I love to paint and see architecture. They inspire me, draw me into beautiful worlds. Open your eyes to all the mysteries that the world has to offer. With in limits, don't go crazy James, I don't need your Dad calling me saying "What on earth did you tell my son to do? Crazy Irish, Norwegian girl! LOL!" Your Friend Sheri
